VWAP Bands Indicator MT5
Platform: MT5 Type: Channel Last update: July 30, 2026The VWAP Bands Indicator for MT5 plots displays around the Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP), giving you a volume-based view of price deviation. This is a similar concept to Bollinger Bands but built on volume rather than a moving average.
You can choose between tick volume or real volume for the calculation (real volume only works if your broker provides it), and decide whether deviations are calculated with or without sample correction.

How to use the VWAP Bands Indicator for MetaTrader 5?
The VWAP Bands Indicator displays three bands on each side of the VWAP line. Each band can be turned on or off individually, and setting a band’s deviation multiplier to zero removes it from the calculation entirely.
Trading rules
Trade in the direction of the overall trend.
In a bullish trend, wait for price to touch the lower outer band (thick orange line) and reject that level, swinging higher from a recent low. Enter the buy once a candle confirms the rejection, with a stop loss a few pips below the swing low.
In a bearish trend, wait for price to touch the upper outer band (thick green line) and reject that level. Enter the sell once a candle confirms the rejection, with a stop loss a few pips above the swing high.
For either trade – take profit when price reaches the opposite band or exit using your own preferred method.
