Obviously, when the indicator’s values are above 0, the trend-momentum is considered bullish. Similarly, when these values are below 0, the trend-momentum is considered bearish. It’s better to use that gauge with other technical analysis tools.
Buy Signal
Follow these steps for a long trade:
- Values of the Vortex Oscillator switches from negative to positive
- Open buy trade at the triggering candle
- Set stop loss a few pips below the most recent market low point
- Take profit after reaching at least 1:1+ risk reward ratio
Sell Signal
Follow these steps for a short trade:
- Values of the Vortex Oscillator switches from positive to negative
- Open sell trade at the triggering candle
- Set stop loss a few pips above the most recent market high point
- Take profit after reaching at least 1:1+ risk reward ratio
